Lena McCaskill Coker, 92 of Carolina House in Asheboro formerly of Robbins, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Randolph Hospital in the care of Hospice Services of Randolph County.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM. Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Robbins, with burial to follow in Pine Rest cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM. – 7:00 PM. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins and other times at the home of Gene and Jane Coker 1027 Yow Rd. Seagrove.

Born in Montgomery County on December 14, 1916 she was an active member of First Baptist Church of Robbins prior to moving to Asheboro’s Carolina House in August 2004. Mrs. Coker was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Coker, daughter: Shirley Mashburn, son: Farrell D. Coker as well as Lee and Alice McCallum, her parents and all her brothers and sisters.

Surviving is her son Eugene Coker and wife Jane of Seagrove.
Daughter: Gail Coker Haworth and husband Brooks, daughter – in – law Denyse W. Coker all of Greensboro.

Grandchildren: John R. Mashburn and wife Tracy of Vass, Tina Mashburn Hussey and husband Randy of Robbins, Mia Coker Thompson and husband Joe of Whispering Pines, Stephanie Culbertson McDaniel and husband Neal of Burlington, Jamey Culbertson and wife Melissa of Greensboro, Melanie Coker McNeill and husband Richard of Seagrove, Aaron D. Coker of Greensboro and Adam W. Coker and wife Amanda of Lake Norman.

Great-grandchildren: Traci H. Maness and husband Brad, Jessica Mashburn, Whitney L. Hussey, Grant Coker Thompson, Ivey A. McNeill, Jantzen McNeill, Gavin P. Thompson, Kennedy “Alice” Culbertson and Anna Forrester McDaniel.

Great-Great-grandchildren: Isaiah and Josie Lee Maness and many nieces and nephews.
